With the whole family

There is a lot to see and do in Museum De Lakenhal. When visiting the museum with the whole family, it is easy to be overwhelmed by all the exhibits and volume of information. The following tips are intended to help make your visit to Museum De Lakenhal with children aged six to 12 years a great day out. We hope you have lots of fun!

Activities

In line with the national measures concerning the coronavirus, Museum De Lakenhal currently does not organize group activities. We hope to resume our Open Atelier on Sundays from 13.00 - 16.00 o'clock and our family tours during school holidays soon. Keep an eye on the activity webpage for the most up-to-date information.

Facilities

Museum De Lakenhal is adequately equipped to facilitate a visit with children. There are changing facilities in the toilets, free-to-use pushchairs and a lift. And, of course, the little ones have not been forgotten in Café Laken.

Enjoy yourselves and feel free to discuss things

We encourage enthusiasm and discussions between young and old. So enjoy yourselves and feel free to discuss the things you see and experience.

Look at it from a different perspective

Children literally see the exhibits from a different perspective. So why not kneel down to see how they view things? Or look at an artwork upside down? You might even be surprised by what you discover!

Take your time and come back again

There is plenty to see in Museum De Lakenhal, but you do not have to see it all in one go. It is much better to study a few museum exhibits closely than to try and see and do everything at once. And do not forget to take a break when needed. If you have had it for one day, come back again to discover a new part of the museum together. Children under 18 have free access to the museum.
